Son of Bres, the half Fomorii ruler of the De Danaan, and the Goddess Brigid. Ruadan wounded the Smith God Goibhniu at the second battle of Magh Tuireadh. He was slain in the combat and his Mother, the Goddess Brigid, came to the battlefield to bewail her son, this is recorded as the first Keening (caoine'lament') to be heard in Ireland. (Irish) |
