Gods (H)

Hammer-God

An important and popular Celtic divinity: his images appear on more than 200 stone monuments. Sucellus 'The Good Striker' would be one of many of the Hammer Gods.

Hefydd Hen

Father of Rhiannon. Hen signifies 'Ancient'. (Welsh)

Hercules

Graco-Roman divine hero. Hercules is also linked in name to a number of Celtic deities in surname or epithets. Most popular was Hercules Magusanus in north-eastern Gaul.

Herne the Hunter

Antler headed leader of the wild hunt, who haunted Windsor Great Park in Berkshire. A story suggests he was a royal huntsman who committed suicide, but the root of his name stems from Cernunnos the horned god.
